It’s been a little while since my last post – this is my last week of classes before a week away of Yoga in India for ME. Let’s continue to remember why we come to the mat and the bigger picture of how our work on ourselves can affect others for the better.

In times of great change and global uncertainty, we are sometimes at a loss to find stability and peace within. Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu is a mantra of power that assists us in our spiritual evolution and acts as a blessing for the world.

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu is a Sanskrit mantra which means:

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

This week, keep the love flowing. When things get confusing, keep the love flowing. When things crash and burn, keep the love flowing. When you feel lost, choose to keep the love flowing.

Balance your nervous system, show yourself some kindness and then spread love wherever you go.

Whether it’s holding the door for someone or making a donation of energy to someone in need.

Let’s continue to up the connection. The world needs us at our best.

See you on the mat!

Tips:

  • My friend and wonderful being, Felix – felixprice.uamsa made a suggestion and I am now of turning off social media after sunset for a while.
Try this? I feel better for it….only use your device during the day, scroll and connect/ use it during the day, then turn it off after 6, and give it a rest, this simple adjustment made me realise how mindlessly I was using it sometimes.
Instagram and the likes of social media has its purpose as we all know, but let’s make sure we are in control of it – not the other way around.

  • For those of you who have been following this journey of winter swimming but perhaps found the colder months and temperatures too brutal – maybe consider coming for a dip now it is on the up?! The water is around 9 degrees now with a beautiful wood burning sauna to jump in after, full of friendly faces and chat afterwards, the benefits have been wonderful.  No sickness for me this winter….Why do it? Here’s 6 reasons why!1. Boosts immunity
    2.Gives you an endorphin high
    3. Boost circulation
    4. It increases you libido
    5. It burns more calories
    6. It reduces stress

  • According to Ayurveda, we are born with our own unique blend of 3 doshas or “mind-body types. Each dosha, Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (earth), are linked to physical, emotional and mental characteristics which can be used to describe us. Commonly one dosha is more dominant and guides the way to a lifestyle that suits you best, however the doshas are often out off balance. Find out which dosha you are and how you can change your diet and habits to bring balance back.

  • Ginger tea is a warming, caffeine-free alternative that helps ease indigestion and nausea, fight colds and soothe a sore throat due to it’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Just slice or grate ginger and add to hot water in a mug or teapot and allow to steep for 5 – 10 minutes. Add lemon juice and honey or maple syrup to taste. You can also pimp it with turmeric, fresh mint leaves, cinnamon or cayenne pepper.
